Justin Harmon Hits A Homerun With the Debut of Another Tantalizing Cabernet From Argot's Oakville Vineyard
Argot is a word of latin origin that, like many concepts unique to a given culture’s language, has an English definition sorely lacking in the idea’s full essence. Argot is a language that develops from intimacy, like-mindedness and mutual respect—family, friends, co-workers, the people we drink wine with…and so on. Each group has its own Argot, unique to its members, that creates a meaningful and lasting connection for those who share it.
Hailing from the historic Bonny’s Vineyard in the heart of Oakville. Gravel-rich soils promote vine roots to plumb deep into the valley floor, while leaf canopies harvest Napa’s persistent summer sunshine. These conditions conspire to produce a profound Cabernet Sauvignon terroir at this marquee Oakville site.
2019 is a fantastic vintage to debut the 1555 Oakville bottling. The name coming from a play on the vineyard's address. A cool, wet spring contributed to a slow start, forcing Justin to pay extreme attention to vines at each stage of the growing season. After dialing in the vines with aggressive farming practices, what resulted was a particularly late harvest of ripe and exquisite Cabernet Sauvignon
Tasting Notes:
Pouring a deep opaque red-violet, 1555’s Cabernet personality leaps from the glass balancing opulent fruit, damp earth, chilling minerality, and an alluring spicy note that keeps pulling us back for more. Exquisitely ripe tannins provide a refined, velvety structure that expertly delivers the deep and seductively rich palate. A stunning Cabernet Sauvignon of undeniable pedigree.
