Such a special wine can only be produced in a privileged location. PINEA vineyards grow in the northern part of the Ribera del Duero along Spain's "Golden Mile". Located at an average altitude of 900 meters above sea level, the vines represent a perfect confluence of elements: unique soil, demanding environment and adverse climate.
PINEA's roots lie in passion, knowledge and art. Making signature wines a reality takes soul, vision and deep respect for their origin. To do this, they listen to every aspect of terroir, trying not to overshadow what nature offers, without over-ripening or excessive contributions of wood and aging.
Although Pinea is a relatively a new producer, they've already made waves with their noninterventionist, terroir-driven selections. They achieve this through the expertise of their winemaker, Isaac Fernandez. One of Spain's most famous winemakers, Fernandez learned his craft under an uncle who made wine for Vega Sicilia. This 100% Tempranillo is bold yet elegant, with concentrated flavors of red cherry, blackberry, vanilla, and spices on the full, flavorful palate.

Tasting Notes:
A shimmering garnet red in the glass with hints of purple. The nose is regal and highly perfumed, wafting the classic fruit profile of Tempranillo. Black currant, plum, and blueberry dominate with hints of vanilla, cacao nibs, and cedar. The palate is intense with fresh plum and berry compote laced with high-toned red fruits balanced against soft edges, chalky tannins, lively mineral acidity, and a long, supple finish.
