Fortuitously, a dry winter followed by early spring rains created a balanced budbreak and shoot growth. The spring continued to be dry, which was in line with the typical weather in wine country. The slightly above-average temperatures during the summer were ideal for fruit development and ipening, and remarkably, there were no days above 100°. As a result, the vines ripened slowly and without heat stress. The extended hang time and consistent cluster ripening contributed to vibrant color and fine-grain tannins, making this vintage particularly memorable. The wines are complex and structured, and their refined balance suggests they will age well. Harvest date: September 15 – October 12, 2021
