HARVEST NOTES: 2019 across Northern California was a beautiful and long growing season resulting in fruit that ripened steadily giving winemakers plenty of opportunity to make promising wines. In Alexander Valley, it will be remembered as a long, cooler vintage with plenty of hang time allowing for optimum flavor development. A wet winter refilled ground reserves allowing for big canopies and good yields. A moderate summer extended into a cooler fall season with the fruit preserving good acids and fruit concentration.
TASTING NOTES
An “edge” above all others, the 2019 will greet you right away with a layered bouquet replete with cherries, black licorice, black currant, baking spices and leading into espresso and tobacco leaf. A nuanced and structured wine, the tannins are firm yet soft and expressive. The flavors and mouthfeel come to life with the lively acidity that enhances the length on the finish. A expression that will delight all wine connoisseurs, the 2019 Edge is versatile, elegant and will only continue to evolve in the years to come.
