2022 Georges Glantenay Volnay 1er Cru Les Brouillards 750ml

Coming from a line of winegrowers from father to son since the 17th century, this domaine located in Volnay in Côte-d’Or, Burgundy, is a family winery born from the sharing of the estate of Pierre Glantenay in 1893. After his son Georges then his grandson Pierre, it is now the fourth generation who is at the head of the estate, represented by Guillaume and Sarah, brother and sister. This domaine has 8 hectares of vines, managed in organic practices agriculture, with the greatest respect for the terroir. They strive every day to maintain and embellish the family heritage, but also to expand it as soon as an opportunity arises.

   One of the unique and remarkable facts about the Domaine is that much of the family’s holdings have very old vines. Guillaume and Sarah’s grandfather, Georges, planted a good part of the vineyards in the 50’s and 60’s. So today, the average vine age for the Domaine is over 60 years!

TASTING NOTES
Shimmering ruby color, the nose exhales powerful aromas of red and black fruits, accompanied by notes of spices. On the palate, the fruit is bright, energetic with a complex and rich texture, and a beautiful minerality. The structured tannins bring the right balance to this distinguished wine.
