About the Wine
The Metal Bender line of wines are named in honor of the Stringer Family’s manufacturing business in Wisconsin. The business stamps, machines and fabricates metal into components used in industries throughout America. They are “Metal Benders”
Stringer Cellars make their wines at Grand Cru Custom Crush in the heart of Sonoma County. It’s a whole family affair: Casey serves as lead winemaker, Chip oversees operations, his brothers, Andrew and Tim, help with marketing and sales and his wife, Brooke can often be found pouring tastings behind the bar. Their winemaking philosophy is simple: Use the finest grapes they can find from the best vineyard sites in California to make small lot wines you will not soon forget. Casey employs minimalist winemaking techniques, allowing the fruit and individual vineyards to shine through in each bottle.
The 2022 Metal Bender Cabernet Sauvignon is a barrel selection from different vineyards situated all throughout the Napa Valley. From Calistoga to Carneros and Oakville to Atlas Peak, many of the sub-AVAs of Napa are included. These are all the same fruit sources used in Stringer’s higher end bottlings.

Composed of 90% Cabernet Sauvignon and 10% Petit Sirah (from a single-vineyard in Stagecoach)
TASTING NOTES:
Expressing warm vintage Cabernet Sauvignon characteristics. It pours a deep purple with an expressive nose of blackcurrant, ripe blackberry, cassis, and dark cherry. The full-bodied palate is rich and velvety, with structured yet polished tannins supporting flavors of dark fruit, espresso, and graphite. Well-integrated oak adds hints of vanilla and tobacco, leading to a long, lingering finish with echoes of dark chocolate and plum.
