Producer's Background:
Founded in 1977, Matanzas Creek Winery has a storied legacy in Sonoma County, with a history steeped in innovation and sustainability. Winemaker Marcia Torres Forno, who joined the winery in 2010, brings over 20 years of experience and a deep connection to the land. Born in Chile and inspired by her family’s Maule Valley vineyard, Marcia employs sustainable farming practices, ensuring that each vineyard site expresses its unique character. Her expertise, especially in aromatic white wines, is evident in the precision and complexity of Matanzas Creek's offerings.
TASTING NOTES:
This Chenin Blanc opens with a bright pale straw hue and enchanting aromas of white flowers, lemongrass, melon, pear, and mango, coupled with a delicate salinity. On the palate, it's vibrant and refreshing, featuring pepino melon, prickly pear, and green banana, underpinned by a mouth-watering saline acidity. The finish is lean yet complex, with angular acidity that pairs beautifully with food.
