Mavs Win! 85 DP and 01 Harlan Celebration

What a terrific night!! The Mavs beat the Pelicans in a riveting overtime game, and while I love watching Luca and KP popping off on the court these wines we popped are part of the all-star team for sure! The 85 DP was one of the best bottles of vintage Dom I have had in a while. Perfectly preserved effervescence, with caramel drizzled golden crisp apples. Hints of toffee on the finish just escalated this wine into a new atmosphere. The 94 Dunn Howell Mountain was delicious after a 30 min decant with blueberry, blackberry, black tea, and purple flowers. I LOVED the 01 Harlan even though it was still a baby. I actually had a glass left over this morning and it was still exploding dark roast coffee, chocolate sun cake, ripe plum, black cherry, and cooking spice. The 82 Opus was one of the better bottles I have had in the 80’s. A little on the oxidative side with waning red cherry, but the stoney minerality was absolutely beautiful!
