Quality Piedmont Juice at a Great Price!
2020 Poderi Marcarini Roero Arneis $20
Tasting Notes: Roero Arneis has become a staple among Piedmont's white wines; dry, and generally aged without any wood, the wines offer flavors of pear and melon, with notes of almond and subtle herbal character in the finish.
2018 Poderi Luigi Einaudi Dogliani $20
Tasting Notes: In the Dogliani area this traditional wine reaches its maximal typicity, of a ruby red color, which tends toward violet with a rich fruity bouquet, full bodied with an intense aroma of undergrowth and a pleasantly tannic taste, with a slight final almond note, typical of this wine. Eight months of maturation in steel tanks and two months in glass complete the refinement. Of a dry and moderately acidic taste, after a year of ageing, it has a good body and full taste.
2015 Poderi Marcarini Barbera d'Alba $20
Tasting Notes: Its intense garnet color, clarity, and warm ruby-red reflections are indications of its extraordinary richness and powerful structure. The full bouquet is characteristic, complex and very persistent, the palate austere and warm, and its considerable full body accentuated; the wine’s superb balance and harmony are further exalted by sweet tannins.
2017 Poderi Luigi Einaudi Barolo $70
Tasting Notes: Camphor, blue flower and French oak form the nose along with a whiff of graphite. The firmly structured palate is on the austere side, offering pomegranate, raspberry, blood orange and licorice alongside tightly wound, close-grained tannins that leave an assertive, astringent close.
2015 Poderi Luigi Einaudi Cannubi Barolo $105
Tasting Notes: Einaudi always make an excellent wine from this celebrated Barolo vineyard, and 2015 is no exception. In this vintage, the wine was aged initially in barriques and then in large casks. The red-fruited nose is smoky and vibrant with some oak in evidence, but there's also a floral charm here. The attack is firm and assertive, but the tannins are finely tuned and discreet, giving the wine polish and vigour. Punchy and very long. |
